Dormir lo ayuda a sentirse m\u00e1s alerta, optimista y a tener una mejor relaci\u00f3n con las personas. Dormir tambi\u00e9n ayuda al cuerpo a combatir enfermedades.<\/p><h4>\u00bfQu\u00e9 sucede mientras dormimos?<\/h4><p>Al dormir se activan una serie de\u00a0funciones metab\u00f3licas\u00a0que son imprescindibles para nuestra salud. Por ejemplo, se reduce el consumo metab\u00f3lico, la frecuencia card\u00edaca y baja la temperatura corporal. A nivel endocrino existen una<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/div><h4>En deportistas<\/h4><h4>Sue\u00f1o y deporte: Fases REM y no REM<\/h4><p>A\u00a0la fase no REM se atribuyen la\u00a0<strong>conservaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda y la recuperaci\u00f3n del sistema nervioso<\/strong>, as\u00ed como la mejora en las destrezas motoras. Es en este momento donde se da el est\u00edmulo para la secreci\u00f3n de las hormonas anab\u00f3licas, aumentado la s\u00edntesis de prote\u00ednas y movilizando los \u00e1cidos grasos libres para suministrar energ\u00eda. Esta fase del sue\u00f1o es fundamental para deportistas de \u00e9lite y para la reparaci\u00f3n del da\u00f1o muscular.<\/p><p>Al sue\u00f1o REM se le atribuyen las funciones cognitivas. Donde se asocian las tan necesarias capacidades para el deportista del\u00a0<strong>aprendizaje, memoria o regulaci\u00f3n emocional<\/strong>. Todas de vital importancia a la hora de la concentraci\u00f3n en el entrenamiento y la competici\u00f3n.<\/p><p>Si no se consigue conciliar el sue\u00f1o, la vida del atleta puede convertirse en una pesadilla en forma de lesiones. La especialista Gim\u00e9nez Rodr\u00edguez rese\u00f1a en su an\u00e1lisis el caso de\u00a0<strong>lesiones por falta de descanso<\/strong>\u00a0-dormir menos de seis horas-, sobreestiramiento -se posee un menor control postural y propioceptivo-, y por reducci\u00f3n de la concentraci\u00f3n, de la atenci\u00f3n y del tiempo de reacci\u00f3n.
